Peter Steele, Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM) and Acupuncture Physician - AP3669

Dr. Peter Steele is a board-certified, licensed Acupuncture Physician (AP) and Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM)

who specializes in herbal medicine. As a primary care physician, he treats his patients using a combination of raw

herbs, pharmaceutical-grade herbal extracts, and even injectable drugs made from plant sources. In addition to

using herbal therapies, Dr. Steele also uses laboratory testing, therapeutic massage, nutritional counseling, and acupuncture for the benefit of his patients.

Dr. Steele chose to practice this form of medicine because he believes that using natural products minimizes the

harm done to our bodies and the environment by replacing the many synthetic chemicals used in modern pharmaceuticals with natural analogues. In addition, with many people in our own country unable to afford

expensive pharmaceuticals, he is a loud advocate for medicines that can be cheaply and naturally grown by the very people who need them most.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Steele also works in the community as a Florida Master Naturalist and Master

Gardener through the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agriculture Science (UF- IFAS). He seeks to

replace many foreign herbal medicines with locally-sourced replacements to help promote and conserve Florida’s

natural heritage. To that end, he also gives talks and seminars illustrating the many benefits of plant-based foods

and medicines.

Some of his passions include:  Herbal Medicine, Injection Therapy, Dietary and Nutritional Counseling

Peter is available: by appointment only and seminars on select Sunday's

Jen Tescher, Massage Therapist - MA75908 and Aesthetician - FB9750289

Massage therapy was born into my life at a young age.  Both of my parents suffered from arthritis and the ability to soothe their discomfort was just another way to love them.

For many years, I worked in Maine as a liaison for the District Attorney's office and victims of crimes.  I worked in court rooms, in law offices and in administrative roles but my door was always open to stressed out co-workers needing a little neck and shoulder work!  It wasn't until much later in my life (and fifteen years of looking longingly at schools) that I realized my dream to make this a career.  When the window of opportunity finally opened, I jumped out and never looked back!

One of the most important things to me is my continued education.  My passion for Craniosacral Therapy and Oncology massage has brought them to front of the line as my specialties and are my focused areas of education.  The classroom is invaluable but the learning and growth in giving treatments is even more rewarding.

My love for skin care has also grown increasingly the more I have learned.  I regularly attend the International Dermal Institute in Orlando and have completed over 200 hours post graduate hours toward my expert certification in Dermalogica.  I am experienced in customizing advanced facials including microdermabrasion, peels, high frequency, ultrasonic and microcurrent technologies.  Watching the transformation in a client's skin is AWESOME but nothing beats seeing the way it makes them feel.

My goal for each and every massage, facial or double service is to give you the time and space to completely relax and begin your healing process.

Some of Jen's favorite areas to specialize in massage include: Craniosacral Therapy, Therapeutic, Hot Stones, Reflexology, Reiki and Oncology and in aesthetic services include: Microdermabrasion, high frequency, ultrasonic and micro current technologies, cranio-facials, reflexology facials and vacuum suction

Jen is available: Monday 1-9pm

Stacy Millett, Ph.D, ACSM, Massage Therapist - MA73612

My goal is to fight chronic disease, obesity, pain, and become strong and fit, naturally.   There is no need to be addicted or dependent on medication when suffering from these ailments.  When the human body is functioning optimally, drugs are not necessary.  This is achieved through holistic health, exercise, eating properly, and a positive mind and spirit.  I'm really one of those people who still loves pizza and ice cream but during the times I'm not eating these deliciously taunting treats, I like to be as optimally healthy as posible, but being normal, too.

PERSONAL
I grew up in Sacramento, California.  I did my college years way up in the tip top of Northern Ca., Humboldt State University, behind the Redwood Curtain, where there were earthquakes and storms causing mass destruction monthly...no malls, no cell phones, not many TVs, and most people rode their bike or walked everywhere.  The weather on a good day was a light mist of rain...all day. I moved to Monterey, Ca. after college to spend time with my niece and nephew while they were growing up but I always have dreamed of moving to the tropics. I spent a short time in South Carolina and Europe but finally decided Florida was the place for me.  So here I am in South Florida with new kinds of storms, but it is a paradise here where the water and nature is amazing!  Ok, so the elecricity isn't very consistant here and there really aren't any hills except bridges, and lots of bugs the further south you go, but it's still awesome!!!!

Ryan Rhodes, Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist  - MA80275

My name is Ryan Rhodes. I am a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. I specialize in deep tissue and sports massage. I have been practicing Massage Therapy for 11 years with a great deal of success in Pennsylvania working along side a great network of Doctors, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, and Physical Therapists. I moved here less than a year ago and have now joined Biomechanics which is another great network of professionals focused on helping others with their physical needs.

I am personally here to help with pain management and muscle health of all of my clients through massage therapy and also as a certified Personal Trainer. I have been an athlete all of my life a collegiate scholarship football player who also had severe injuries that I had to recover from. This is what sparked my interest in providing therapy to others and leading them down the road to recovery. However as we all know prevention is the first step and through proper strength training and massage therapy you can and will avoid a lot of the common issues most deal with on a day to day basis.

Whether you are an athlete looking to maximize your potential or maintain your body, or you are just looking to get off the couch and feel better physically and also about yourself I believe I can help you through both massage therapy and personal training. I specialize in the K.I.S.S method (which has nothing to do with make up and heavy metal) but Keep It Simple Stupid...methods of training and massage. You will be surprised at how easy it is to stay healthy and relatively pain free by combining my workouts with  regular massage. Try it out and K.I.S.S your old life good bye!

Dr. Karen Isaacson, Chiropractor - CH12129

Dr. Isaacson was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in business and went on to receive her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia.

After graduating from the University of South Florida with a business degree, I went on to receive a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. I am trained in a variety of techniques and certified to perform a variety of healthcare services. I have experience working with adults, elderly, children and even babies! I have operated several injury clinics in Atlanta and owned my own mobile chiropractic company for several years before relocating to Sarasota.  In addition, I am a proud member of the World Chiropractic association and The Injury Specialists- a network of doctors and attorneys who provide services to those who have been injured regardless of whether they are insured, under insured or not insured at all.

I truly enjoy getting to know my patients and encouraging them to reach their highest health potential. After evaluating a person’s overall health, a customized treatment plan will be designed.  I will use a combination of chiropractic care, natural supplementation, exercise, stress reduction, physical therapy, dietary recommendations and other modalities to eliminate pain, increase motion and improve your overall health. By using a whole-body approach to wellness, I am often able to eliminate health conditions (such as headaches, asthma, ear infections) that may or may not seem related to the muscular skeletal system. As a result, most of my patients feel an overall sense of wellness and experience a better quality of life.

Functional medicine focuses on interactions between the environment and the gastrointestinal, endocrine, and immune systems. After evaluating saliva and stool, practitioners develop individual treatment plans with the goal of balancing the body’s hormone and flora levels, ultimately returning your body to proper health.  If you suffer from digestive issues, hormonal issues, fatigue, sleep issues or just feel out of “whack”, functional medicine may be the right approach for you.

For two decades, I struggled with severe fatigue, weight gain, difficulty concentrating etc. After using traditional medications and treatments, I turned to functional medicine. Through saliva and stool sampling, I found the root of my health issue and used the recommended pharmaceutical grade supplementation, dietary recommendations and other holistic approaches to bring my nutritional and hormonal levels back to normal. It completely changed the quality of my life and that experience inspires me to educate others about functional medicine and holistic wellness.

Dr. Isaacson specializes in neck pain, back pain, headaches, sprain/strain injuries, sports injuries and injuries

sustained in an auto accident.

Karen is available Thursday and Friday 5-9pm and by appointment on Saturday and Sunday 9am-9pm

Julie Hallowell, Acupuncturist - AP3279 and Massage Therapist  - MA82831

I began studying Alternative and Complementary Medicine at the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy, with a certification in Neuromuscular therapy. Then after moving to Florida, I graduated from East West College of Natural Medicine in 2009.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concept of treating the whole patient with acupuncture, massage, herbs and food therapy is truly a complement to Western medicine diagnostics.

I have personally been able to see how the benefits of using these two systems of Medicine together can effectively treat chronic pain, autoimmune disorders and the side effects of cancer, just to name a few. My love of Chinese Medicine allows me to expound on the Hippocrates quote: "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."

Some of Julie's areas to specialize include: Neuromuscular Therapy, Preventative Medicine and Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM).

Julie is available: By appointment only
